Feel Inspired through Mid-December ‘Elf on the Shelf’ Slump, Creative Elf on the Shelf Ideas

Are you running out of Elf on the Shelf ideas already?

It’s basically bound to happen

There are 25 days to fill if you start on December 1st, and even more if you start shortly after Thanksgiving.

That’s why I am here! To scour Pinterest for the BEST Elf on the Shelf Ideas.

In today’s post I give you my favorites, of the two sites I am sharing with you guys today. They have Easy and Creative Elf on the Shelf ideas for my fellow parents out there. Please Follow their blogs as they are all credits to them. Happy Holidays!

31 Day Blog Challenge?

I am so  b e y o n d o v e r it…

It’s the holidays and I am just over trying to complete it!! If there were any days that you guys REALLY wanted to hear, I will absolutely answer!

As parents I feel like we’re always searching for other ways to get our kids to listen. I don’t know what is so different about when I was little to now,-but kids seem to have a harder time just doing what they are supposed to do.

Which I think is why Elf on the shelf was created. It gives children an extra incentive to do better at home.

I have never done it for Little A, Baby J is still young of course, but I am watching my niece do it this year and it looks SO fun. I love coming up with different ideas on where to put the elf.

Until I feel like your four days in… and then you’ve run out of ideas and still many days to go! Since I am taking a hiatus on the 31 Day Blog Challenge, I’ve decided to post a few different sites each day with Elf on the Shelf Ideas!

“On the First Day of Elf on the Shelf”

we looked at

Smart Schoolhouse

She has a REALLY cute list of ideas.

My Favorites

A cotton ball igloo hut (seriously so cute)

a cotton ball bathtub in the crock pot, complete with a rubber ducky and a towel (Elf hair care is important too)

next to the creamer bottle in the fridge-wrapped in a wash cloth blanket. (brrr , thanks for the ‘morning jo’ help, Elf.)

Holidays are the best! Such a bright time, so easy to find affordable and free events around town. With lighting ceremonies and holiday concerts, so cheery.

Has a slideshow of creative ideas!

A few I really loved

Rock climbing up the wall with Gift Bows, SO cute and simple.

A puzzle, that way you can put it together later. I love a reason to do things as a family!

A melted snowman,  simple but I am sure it will get the little ones talking!

Are you doing elf on the shelf with your kids? What are some of your ideas? Share in the comments!

What are your holiday traditions?

What are your holiday traditions?

Thursday’s are becoming more like Friday’s…

I am just putting that out there now! I am getting Little A on a Thursday this week as she is out of school tomorrow. I have no idea why they are out however I am pretty excited about it because we can now go to this Winter thing I wanted to take her to!

It’s going to be full of real reindeer, Santa, and a light ceremony all FOR FREE. Which in my opinion makes the event even better! So we’re headed to that tonight.

I will take photos and share them with you guys later. Which brings me to my topic… finally- yes I am getting there.

What are your family holiday traditions?

I LOVE this time of year so much. It’s so happy and joyous, about the only buzz kill is the Midwest is getting freeezing cold.

I love to take the kids to see Santa! Before J was born I would take A and my littlest sister and brother. We usually go to Bass Pro Shop, it’s fun to look around at things and free photos!

I know I have a pattern, I just love a good deal ya’ll. I love Decorating the tree after Thanksgiving with the family and Christmas music.

What do you guys love most about the holidays?

We are in between places this year, so I will be totally out of my element with unplanned holidays and not decorating the house and tree. It will just make next year that much more sweet.

Leave some joy in the comments if you’d like! Happy almost Friday 🙂 If you haven’t checked out last weeks Finding your Happiness Friday you should totally do so!

Baby J’s First Halloween is near!

Baby J’s First Halloween is near!

Is it really October already? I had baby J almost 10 months ago, time really does fly by. I heard the age old saying while I was pregnant ‘The Days Are Long, but the Years Are Short’ and it sadly is so true. This post by Janie Porter  is so relatable and aimed more at the long days which I think aren’t talked about enough.

This is me last Halloween, looking like a pumpkin all on my own.

So it had me thinking, Time To Get Spooky! Not only is it that time, but it always comes up so fast. This is baby J’s first Halloween and I have NO idea what he’s going to be. Our budget is very small at the moment but I am usually a fantastic Pinterest finder, and decently creative. So I am able to customize things to my liking. Marc (Baby J’s dad) wanted to do some scary IT theme with a clown which I don’t think I am so fond of.

I want baby J’s first Halloween to be super memorable and photogenic because I am THAT mom. I was thinking maybe a lion or a dinosaur. I saw a really cute Jurassic Park themed one that I thought was adorable. I just really cannot decide.

You guys! Please share your Halloween kiddos costume ideas, or cute photos because I am stuck.♥♥
