Follow Five New People on Social Media, Anxiety Mom Challenge Two.

Did you challenge yourself?

How many of y’all were able to complete challenge one? Getting out of the house!

Now it’s time for,

Challenge Number TWO!!

This is all about getting out there in the blog/social media world 🌍‼️

One important lesson I’ve learned so far with my blog is, that it’s super important to get out there and “promote” if you will… your posts.

It’s good to connect with other bloggers.

Just like a group of friends at home. Like-minded people typically stick together and can thrive with one another.

It helps to have support with a new blog. Commenting on each other’s posts, following each other, learning and taking tips from one another.

So go follow 5 new friends!!

Super simple and can make a big difference!

Once you start following, you might find it hard to stop… extra points for a comment 😉

So go on!

Follow 5 new bloggers

If you’re not doing this challenge with your blog, you can get on Instagram and follow new friends/profiles close to what your niche is. Like 5 Facebook pages , or 5 new Pinterest boards.

Whatever it is, it’s challenge number two time.

Comment one person you followed and I will follow both of you!

Finding your Happiness Friday with ANXIETY MOM Challenge

Really it’s Saturday I know guys, I fell asleep before I could post this. I just couldn’t change it anymore, I’m sorry #momfail

Is this you right now…

You haven’t left the house in a couple days. {recreationally anyway, kids and their needing picked up from things…geesh}

You’ve forced yourself to do JUST the necessities {My thoughts...J & A could care-less about what momma looks like}

You’re certain it’ll be a whole ‘nother season before you make it out with actual adults {those exist?}

our family doesn’t budget outings much, especially in the winter. {wait what’s a budget?}

IF this sounds like you, then I have the CHALLENGE for you.

Anxiety Mom Challenge

Pin this for later! Stay tuned for more challenges.

Challenge One- Leave the house!

“Bonus points if it’s free or with another Parent.”

We moved to where Marc is from…I am from the next state over. I’ve been many of times, somehow I still end up lost. AKA a brand new route to where I am headed.

Which has forced me to really get out there. On top of, picking A up from her first year of school, standing in line with other parents, and, little A making friends. My anxiety ridden, extroverted, but introverted self, sort-of freaked out!

Little A and I were invited to go to the Public library one day after school. The sweetest little one invited her, and of course we couldn’t say no. Baby J, A, and I headed there and it was awesome!

They had a pretend grocery store set-up, they had LOTS of other activities, and they even had a sectioned off area for just baby J’s age.

ALL FOR FREE.

Time to get out there momma!

What are we gonna do?
GET OUT OF THE HOUSE AND DO SOMETHING
When are we gonna do it?

NOW… or sometime SOON!

If you do please tag me in your post!

Drop Dead Dice game review!

Drop Dead Dice game review!

Do you ever get sucked into the Pinterest portal.

You know, your kids are bored.

The last holiday or birthday was more then three days ago.

So you’re looking for something to do with the kids. You come across some ideas… but, you don’t have the right supplies. Or the prep time is far to long. Whatever the case, if that’s you…

I have something!

Unless you don’t have 5 dice… then I’m sorry… I’ve failed you 😐

I wasn’t even looking for something to do, it just popped up on my feed. Like it wanted us to play…

It’s called “drop dead dice game”!! Pause, it’s kid friendly, don’t worry! It was a learning game AND it was super fun! Which in my book… is kinda like winning the lottery.

It can be played with 5 or 10 dice 🎲 for 2 players, if you use 5 you’ll have to share. You could play with more but I would stick to 5 dice.

• You’ll need something to keep score on and write with.

That’s it!!! Seriously I can’t make this up.

You play until all of your dice are gone, you start with five dice,

•Roll 1- if you

A. Roll a 5 or 2 take those out and roll again. Don’t add any numbers yet.

B. If there are NO 5 or 2’s you add up all the numbers on the dice. Roll again with ALL dice.

Which is PERFECT for our little beginner math kiddos. A counted the dots and told me what she had.

You get so excited when you’re playing this sometimes you forget the rules 😂

Pin this so you’ll have it for later!

If you took out your 5’s and 2’s and on your next turn you had no 5’s or 2’s you then can add up all your dice and roll them all again.

You continue till the dice are gone.

A and I chose to do each game as it’s own, highest score winner.

For score keeping, we used a laminated sheet of paper that has lines for practicing writing, it wipes off easy which is perfect.

Ideally, you’d never get a 5 or 2 and could stack your points. You roll again after numbers are added… roll a 5 or 2 take them out and roll again.

Hopefully this pattern makes sense! I did not make up this game nor do I own any rights to it.

A and I played for almost all of J’s nap-time {over an hour} before she mentioned she was bored.

Total win!! Parent Points 4/5

I hope everyone is having a great New Year so far!!

Breastfeeding Tips for New Moms!

Breastfeeding Tips for New Moms!

Breastfeeding

I know the feeling all too well.

You’re frustrated, baby won’t latch, you feel like you haven’t gotten a minute to yourself in weeks.

You’re overly exhausted, and baby needs more food… all night long you feed..your boobs are filled with milk or maybe not filled enough.. nipples hurt ahhh!

How will you keep going on like this? Will you ever shower again…

the answer is yes! You can do it momma, and if you’ve tried it all and can’t, don’t feel obligated to. Fed is best! You’re doing great.

I was terrified to breastfeed

We did skin to skin for an hour after J was born and I felt this instant connection with my son. For that hour we bonded, and even at minutes old... he was searching for my boob! (I really like saying boob so much better then breast...hopefully no one is offended.

It was always my plan to breastfeed baby J, so even when it got REALLY difficult… and let me tell you, sometimes it was really hard. I tried my best to stick it out. I was lucky enough to only have problems for the first few months.

It will get better!!!

It’s true, I don’t know how long…

but it will get better. I kept seeing this everywhere  when I was looking for advice and to be honest I don’t really know if it helped or not. I think it can never hurt to try. So many times when J wouldn’t stop crying or when he couldn’t latch correctly I thought-this will never get any easier.

“Don’t cry over spilled milk.” Or do, if it’s breast milk.

{ I know you can relate}

There might be roadblocks

When J was born he was 7lbs 6oz which was way bigger than any of us thought he’d be! In the hospital I felt confident about our feeding, I really recommend to use the lactation consultants!! Their amazing, and so helpful. I was somewhat sure I had breastfeeding figured out. But once I got home, that wasn’t the case. J was dropping weight, even a couple weeks after birth.

We then were put on a STRICT schedule of waking him to feed every 2 hours (pumping after that) and feeding the bottle. He did gain weight this way and it really helped with getting feeding down! We also visited a Lactation Consultant again (She said J was actually feeding well, it worked as a good brush up & confidence boost)

After all though, it did in fact, get easier! Now baby J is One and it’s not even something we think twice about. He can very easily latch on his own, and my milk supply is very evened out, it’s just a normal part of every day. Seriously he could latch onto my breast upside down (yes he’s tried)

Take the help

Did you hear me?… Take the help!

Don’t forget that as a momma, you need to give yourself the time of day. Brush your teeth and hair, eat a meal (hey eat 2 meals), and accept whatever help you are offered. If you’re offered a shower so that you’re swollen boobs can relax, T A K E I T.

So many times, Marc would feed me ice cream or dinner just so that I could continue to breastfeed J. {lucky gal=me} It really meant a lot to me to have a good group of people around me. Between my family and Marc’s I’ve had a lot of help around.

For the longest time I wouldn’t accept help from anyone else besides Marc, and I was so exhausted. Not always was someone around of course, but when you’re exhausted and worn out; Even a pee alone can help. So if someone is offering to help… T A K E I T.

Do Your Research

I’m a pinterest and google queen, need a deal let me check Amazon really quick for you.

This isn’t necessary for everyone, it might even fit into the ‘ask for help’ section. However, I LOVE to do my research on things that influence my life. I’m an “overachiever” in that way I guess.

On the same token there is only so much you can do before actually having your baby and breastfeeding. Try to breathe Momma you’re doing great, if there are dads reading this… just do your best to listen and help where you can & GET SNACKS HURRY.

One thing I’d really recommend is, Lanolin Cream the hospital actually provided this to me and it was amazing! You can put it on before and after breastfeeding so it’s totally safe for baby (HUGE plus on my Parent Points scale…)

Helps with the rawness, especially if there is trouble with latching. J in the beginning had a hard time staying latched (he would get super sleepy).

Where do you want to be in 10 years? 31 Day Blog Challenge day 20

Between Christmas shopping, J’s 1st Birthday quickly approaching, and my lack of sleep. I am getting nowhere fast guys! I am so sorry I have been ‘MIA’ and I will try to get a few of these out as soon as I can. Day 20 of the

31 Day Blog Challenge

31 Day Blog Challenge Day 20 Baby J and Little A

I haven’t posted the whole challenge in awhile. If you’d like to join it with me, please do!

Where do I want to be in 10 years?

Do you ever feel like you get the blues from never being satisfied? I think as a Mom I really try to strive to make everything “perfect”. I want the best memories, the best photos, I want things exactly how I’ve envisioned them.

Since I am not rich, I have to really come to terms with the fact that not everything will be that way and to not forget that there were many days I just wanted children of my own or a family of my own, it isn’t the worst if I don’t have everything else exactly how I want.

I really would love to have a home of our own that we are happy. For us to be able to do more things as a family, it’s been a really hard year or so with everything we’ve had going on and I would love to just enjoy life.

As for my blog Baby J and Little A I would love to see growth! I feel like I’ve grown a lot even just since the beginning of my blog. Here is my first post, I’ve grown since then

Where do you want to be in 10 years? So sorry I have been MIA guys! Let me know what you want to see in the comments.

What are your worst habits? Day 19 of the 31 Day Blog Challenge

This is a day late,

I am so sorry. I have had a really hard time with Baby J’s sleep. Thanksgiving week he didn’t have his schedule and as of today I am wondering if we aren’t just dropping a nap. SO I have had a rough couple weeks and I fell asleep before I could finish yesterday’s post so I quickly posted this morning because J wanted no part in his usual first nap.v

So, I was diagnosed about 7 months or so after J was born with, Anxiety. I have known for about 6 years (maybe more) that I have anxiety. When I finally addressed it, I started to really notice all the times it has hindered me in the past.

I think my troubles tend to stem from that. Up until pretty recently I thought everyone felt the way I did. It was a huge eye opener for me to find out the exact opposite. Although it is a common thing [anxiety] everyone doesn’t feel that way. Which brings us to Day 19 of the

31 Day Blog Challenge

Closer to the end rather then the beginning  and I just can’t believe it. What will this blog be once it’s over ya’ll! Just kidding, but I have had a lot of fun so far so let’s keep it moving.

What are your worst habits?

Letting my Anxiety take over

Anxiety is unavoidable for many, if I can recommend anything to those struggling with anxiety it would be that you can’t get rid of it. You can only manage it. Don’t let it take over your life. Look for triggers, I have just started this ‘self-work’ it’s such a hard lesson! We’re only human though.

“Molding”

I would LOVE to hear someone else’s take on this subject. Good or bad please share in the comments. I tend to ‘mold’ into older people when I’m around them for the sake of being uncomfortable. I have realized it more as I’ve become older especially, since Baby J and Little A.

I don’t mean to be someone else. I have caught myself many of times saying oh I loved that, thinking later did I? I have been working hard to know the difference.

What are some of your bad habits?

Are you coming up with ways to overcome them with the new year closely ahead!

Let me know in the comments!!

What are you Afraid of? Day 18 of the 31 Day Blog Challenge!

I’m terrified to even write this post guys! I have read The Secret and I’m a firm believer in it. Simply put, ask & you shall receive. Which is great for good fortune things, not bad ones. Seriously where has this year gone. I can’t believe how quickly it went! Today’s challenge is not my favorite at all.

It’s day 18 of the 31 Day Blog Challenge

What are you afraid of?

What do you fear?

Even as a little one I have had this very fear. There I am fast asleep in bed and all of a sudden I heard chewing and paper rustling. It was so ear piercing(sound not volume) that I woke up from my sleep.

I screamed for my parents! My dad rushes in, heroically carries me out of my room. My parents even let me stay at my grandparents a couple blocks over. I don’t know if you’ve guessed what it is yet, it was a tiny creepy mouse!

I have a serious fear. Even writing this post will cause me to see one in my near future and have a small breakdown. Even Little A knows my real fear, I think she comforts me more, than the other way around. Hopefully Baby J doesn’t get this fear.

What is your biggest fear? I am so interested to hear!
